Six years after Windows 10’s debut, Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, and Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, will unveil the “next generation of Windows” at a special event to be held on June 24th. Satya Nadella already hinted at the arrival of this new generation of Windows at the Build 2021 developer conference last month, where he revealed that the company planned to “share one of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade.” This next generation is expected to feature a modernization of the user experience through a thorough overhaul of the interface, a project that Microsoft has been working on for some time under the code name “Sun Valley”. It is also likely that the new OS will include the features of Windows 10X, which was intended for dual-screen devices. In February 2020, Microsoft announced a Windows 10X release date slated for fall 2020, then said in July 2020 that the operating system wouldn’t arrive until 2021, and finally put it on ice last month. Rumor is that Windows 11 will launch later this year, and perhaps as early as this fall. The event, tagged #MicrosoftEvent on social platforms, will be webcast live on Microsoft’s website. We can’t wait to learn more!
