Tesla surprised its fans with the introduction of a vehicle that no one had foreseen: Cyberquad for Kids. This electric four-wheel all-terrain vehicle intended for children 8 years and up (68 kg maximum) features an angular body with a Cybertruck-inspired punk aesthetic. The chassis is all-steel with a padded seat, adjustable suspension, rear disc brakes and LED head- and taillight bars. The vehicle has three speeds: 5 mph (8 km/h), 10 mph (16 km/h) and 5 mph in reverse. According to Tesla, the 36V battery fully charges in five hours, and the range of approximately 24 kilometers varies depending on user weight, terrain and speed. It costs “just” US$ 1,900, which isn’t expensive for a Tesla vehicle, but is certainly not within reach of every family. It isn’t produced by a Tesla factory, but is actually a collaboration between Tesla’s design studio and Radio-Flyer, which already offers a Tesla Model S for children (for US$ 500) and a ride-on for tots inspired by the Model Y (for US$ 80). Unfortunately, the Cyberquad for Kids is only sold in the United States for now, and Tesla cannot guarantee that the vehicle will deliver in time for the holidays. To make matters worse, just hours after the Twitter post by Franz von Holzhausen, chief designer at Tesla, it was already marked out of stock.
