Sonos was planning to unveil a new product at an event on March 9, but The Verge spoiled the surprise by revealing it would be the unveiling of a new portable speaker, the Roam, smaller and less expensive than the Move. Measuring 16.2 x 6.3 x 6.3 cm, weighing around 500g, fully waterproof, it will be priced at US $170 (compared to US $400 for the Move). The battery life will be about ten hours. Two Roams can be stereo paired in Wi-Fi mode. The Roam will ship with a USB-C charging cable, and a wireless charging dock will be sold separately for US $49. As with all of the company’s other speakers, it will come in black or white. Also according to The Verge, the device will be available April 20.
