Sony announced the launch of its PlayStation VR2 headset for February 22, priced at a cool 750 CAD (550 USD). A version that includes the game Horizon Call of the Mountain, developed especially for the PS VR2, will also be available for 820 CAD (600 USD), and a charging station for the Sense controllers, for 65 CAD (50 USD). PS VR2 preorders start on November 15 on Sony’s Playstation online store.

The overall design of the PS VR2 is similar to the original PS VR that came out over five years ago, but the new, slightly lighter version features several long-awaited improvements, including a lens adjustment dial and a new vent system. This new headset supports haptic feedback, eye tracking, 4K HDR, 90/120 Hz frame rates, foveated rendering, a 110-degree field of view, and a single USB-C cable connecting it to the PS5. Unfortunately, PS VR games are not compatible with the PS VR2. Sony went on to announce that eleven new PS VR2 titles will come out in 2023.

The Verge, Tom Warren, “PlayStation VR2 launches on February 22nd for $549.99.”
