The Surface Laptop Go, Microsoft’s small, 12.4-inch (1,536×1,024) touchscreen Surface laptop, has been updated with a newer chip, an improved webcam and thermals. The machine is now powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor with a USD 600 starting price for a model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD NVMe storage. It can reach USD 1,100 for 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. A new “sage” option complements the preexisting blue, sandstone and platinum colors, and select models come with a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. Microsoft says that the Laptop Go 2 is a little easier to fix than the previous version, because the SSD, the screen, the battery, the keyboard and trackpad are all designed to be replaceable, though only by Microsoft-authorized providers. Preorders are open, and delivery should start next week.
