Preceded by months of leaks and rumors, the new Pixel has finally been launched. What is immediately striking about this new generation from Google is that, even with a boatful of hardware improvements such as a second-gen Tensor SoC, its price hasn’t increased. Indeed, Pixel 7 goes for 600 USD and Pixel 7 Pro for 900 USD. The Pixel 7 has a 6.3-inch 1080p display, which is slightly smaller than the Pixel 6, and the 7 Pro has a 6.7-inch 1440p LTPO display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The 7 Pro also features a 48Mpx 5x telephoto lens, an additional 4GB of RAM and storage of up to 512GB. The updated Tensor enables a new function called Photo Unblur, which uses machine learning locally to get rid of any blurriness in the photo due to a subject in motion or a shaky hand, with amazing results. On the outside, the devices look a lot like the previous generation, with a large back bar housing the photo unit. Overall, this new gen is a step forward in the evolution of the Pixel and its best feature is the price freeze. Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro can be preordered now and will deliver starting October 13.
